Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Annual Obesity Reports
Understanding obesity’s impact on Nevada residents can help guide evidence-based policy decisions, support public health initiatives, and address health disparities throughout the state.
About the Annual Obesity Report
Nevada’s Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) Wellness and Prevention Program supports and promotes strategies and efforts to create a culture of healthy eating and active living.
The Program works with local and state partners to promote key behaviors to enhance Nevadans’ healthy weight status. The program is tasked with the development of Nevada’s Annual Obesity Report per NRS 439.521.
These Annual Obesity Reports provide a comprehensive look at obesity across the state, including trends among adults, youth, and young children. Developed by the Nevada Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH), with contributions from the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section and the DHHS Office of Analytics (OOA), the report also highlights efforts by DPBH to promote wellness, food security, and healthy habits.
